YACHT Reject Digital Culture on ‘I Thought the Future Would Be Cooler’

The electro-pop duo's fifth studio album is out on October 16

After debuting the news of a new album via Google Maps and publishing a GIF “tracklisticle” to BuzzFeed, YACHT have shared the title track from their forthcoming fifth record, I Thought the Future Would Be Cooler (out on October 16 via Downtown Records).

Premiered via Billboard, the familiarly punchy track has to do with our, as Claire Evans explains it, digitally damning age: “We are living in this interesting age where if something happens in the real world without any online documentation it’s as though it didn’t happen. At the same time if something happens online with no physical component it also feels as if it’s not real.” Listen via Billboard.
