No Devotion Get Wet in Visual for Stormy Single ‘Addition’

Thursday frontman Geoff Rickly kept himself busy post-post-hardcore fame. Of late he’s taken part in the the experimental punk act United Nations and headed up a label called Collect Records (which counts heavy critical darlings like Wax Idols and Sick Feeling as part of its stable), but for now he’s throwing his full weight behind No Devotion, his spacey project with the former members of Lostprophets. Today, Rickly returns with a visual for that band’s “Addition,” a static-laden evocation of his duskier impulses. It’s ostensibly a lyric video, but it feels bigger, an appropriate pairing with the track’s moony, swooning guitar lines, featuring an intense close-up of singer’s face bathed in water and in colored lights as he slowly sings along, think of it like the “No Surprises” video but without the threat of death.

No Devotion is set to release their debut full-length Permanence as a double LP on September 25 on Collect. Watch the video for “Addition” here as you wait.
