Prince Removes All Music From All Streaming Services Except TIDAL

Prince may have given us a new single, “HARDROCKLOVER,” but he has taken away the rest of his music from all streaming services except TIDAL. As Radio.com pointed out on July 1, the same day Apple Music launched, a note appeared on the Purple One’s Spotify page that reads, “Prince’s publisher has asked all streaming services to remove his catalog. We have cooperated with the request, and hope to bring his music back as soon as possible.”

The move seems to run counter to recent announcements that other artists who have held or backed out from streaming services, including AC/DC (who also made their catalog available on Spotify) and Taylor Swift, have made their catalogs available on Apple Music. Let the streaming services wars begin.
