MTV just announced the nominations for their annual Miley Cyrus-hosted Video Music Awards — with some unsurprising snubs — this morning on Beats 1, and Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Ariana Grande are among the nominees.
Up for Video of the Year are Beyoncé for her self-titled album’s bonus track “7/11,” as well as Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar for their cameo-stuffed “Bad Blood” video, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars for their inescapable “Uptown Funk,” Ed Sheeran for “Thinking Out Loud,” and Kendrick Lamar for his To Pimp a Butterfly track “Alright.”
New Jersey rapper Fetty Wap scored his first-ever nod for “Trap Queen,” while Florence + the Machine made her return to the Best Rock Video category with her How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful standout “Ship to Wreck.”
