Major Lazer’s wonky, off-the-wall synths might not seem like the best fit for a song from smooth crooner Frank Ocean, but Diplo and co. managed to find a new spin on his 2012 hit “Lost.” Featuring on vocals, the cover is a reggae-inspired number that adds a little more energy to Ocean’s original while still feeling true to its soulful, more somber origins. The producer first shared a tiny snippet of the Channel Orange cut on his Snapchat in March, and just today dropped the full thing on SoundCloud. It’s expected that “Lost” will appear on Major Lazer’s supposed second album of 2015, following Peace Is the Mission. Frank Ocean, meanwhile, said he would be dropping a new album in July. As of publishing, there were ten days left in the month.
