How odd must it be to watch another band cover your music? Well, that’s precisely what Spoon did on Friday night after their set at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine. After the show, local band Jeff Beam’s Loudspeaker Wallpaper covered Spoon’s Girls Can Tell and Kill The Moonlight in their entirety down the street at a local club, where Spoon happened to show up. As Stereogum reports, the band being covered got up onstage to play a few songs using the doppelgängers’ gear. Later, Beam expressed his shock on the event’s Facebook page, saying, “This ended up being completely surreal.” Watch an Instagram clip of Spoon playing “The Two Sides Of Monsieur Valentine,” and find a few more videos here.
