Italian producer Alessandro Cortini is best known for contributing tortured electronics to Nine Inch Nails, but he’s also built up a pretty hefty resumé of solo ambient records. He returns today with news of Risveglio, his second full-length for noise godhead Dominick Fernow‘s Hospital Productions, and a single called “La Sveglia.”
It’s a dusty collage of sedated synth parts, collapsing and fading into one another as the track progresses. While decidedly more outré than his work with the industrial-rock legends, the overcast atmosphere will feel familiar to fans of the band.
