Swedish electro-pop brooders Kate Boy have just announced their debut album, ONE, and it’s anchored by the lead single “Midnight Sun,” produced by Christoffer Berg. A nonstop explosion of punctuated synthesizers, perfectly aligned, stuttering drum machines, and Kate Akhurst’s piercing vocals, the song’s one of the group’s best — following tracks like “Higher,” “Northern Lights,” and “The Way We Are” — and surely bodes well for the rest of the album (due in from November Fiction/Island/Iamsound).
