Eagles of Death Metal Offer Album Details, Borderline-NSFW Art for ‘ZIPPER DOWN’

Eagles of Death Metal, the garage-y duo featuring Jesse Hughes and Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, returned yesterday with news of their first album since 2008 ZIPPER DOWN and a new single called “Complexity.” There weren’t any details on the record at the time, but today they’ve announced that it’ll be out October 2 via T-Boy/uMe and shared its tracklist, which includes a cover Duran Duran’s “Save a Prayer.”

Hughes said in a statement that ZIPPER DOWN “represents to me an attitude and philosophy of life.” “One should not zipper up,” he continued. “They should zipper down and let it all hang out.” For his part Homme explained the album in an equally inscrutable manner, saying that “four out of three doctors say ZIPPER DOWN is an eargasm trapped inside a crazerbeam.”

Whatever all of that means, the nonsense is par for the course for the gloriously goofy duo. You can check out the track list here, along with the band’s upcoming tour dates. That’s the album art up above.
