The Rolling Stones Share Simmering Alternate Version of ‘Dead Flowers’

The Rolling Stones are set to release a deluxe reissue of their 1971 classic Sticky Fingers in just a few weeks. They’ve shared a handful of that record’s bonus tracks already, but today they’ve dug up another number from the cutting room floor, an alternate version of “Dead Flowers.” This rendition supplants the acoustic strumming and piano plinks of the original with rollicking guitar work, dragging the whole thing closer to how they were playing it live at the time. You can check it out in full up above, along with some appropriately faded film visuals. The Sticky Fingers reissue is out June 8.
