Shamir’s recent stellar debut album Ratchet might’ve had everyone moving and grooving to its many electric disco sounds, but all that wouldn’t have mattered without his impeccable pipes. The 20-year-old singer-songwriter recently got a chance to just show off his vocal chops as part of the Take Away Show, a video series which brings artists into a public space for an acoustic performance. Shamir’s entry sees him strolling along the Brooklyn waterfront with a guitar singing sparse but soaring renditions of “In For The Kill” and “Demon.” Check it out above.
