Listen to an Extended Version of the Rolling Stones’ ‘Bitch’

In June, Universal will reissue the classic Rolling Stones LP Sticky Fingers, replete with unreleased tracks and “making of” bookets and photos. One of the unheard tracks is a stellar extended version of the rollicking, Side B opener, “Bitch.” The alternate take is a longer, looser, earlier spin that, like the final version, was recorded in October 1970 at Stargroves, Mick Jagger’s country home. This alternate take has the horns tying different lines and fills, so they don’t quite take on the “attack” of the final version. Mick Taylor’s sweeping, woozy guitar lines wash over the whole thing, while Jagger snarls about salivating “like a Pavlov dog.”

Listen to the track above, and check out the full deluxe reissue of the Stones’ classic ’71 LP on June 9, currently available for pre-order on iTunes.
