The final episode of this season of Saturday Night Live aired last night. As has been the rule for this 40th anniversary season, the musical guest was pretty stellar, with Rihanna returning for her fifth SNL appearance. But even by Rihanna’s standards this weeks performance was special. Her run through “Bitch Better Have My Money” began with her behind the wheel of a car before turning into the subterranean rave-up that the track demands. The performance of “American Oxygen” was a little more stark and somber, featuring the singer in the midst of three giant video screens that aired important patriotic moments from American history.
