Listen to Desaparecidos’ Urgent New Song, ‘Backsell’

We’ve already heard (and seen) the first cut from Desaparecidos‘ sophomore album, Payola, and now Conor Oberst’s post-hardcore outfit has shared “Backsell.” It slams and crunches a little harder than its predecessor, but like “City On the Hill,” it’s a commentary on another facet of the capitalist system: snippets of voicemails from Dreamworks and MCA are sampled in between the lines, and the video features an ominously worded (though obviously fake) letter regarding “targeted individuals” and “conglomerate corporations.” Listen to it above, and look for Payola on June 23 via Epitaph.
