Conor Oberst’s punk group Desaparecidos aren’t the biggest fans of capitalism, to say the least, and the new music video for “City on the Hill” — from their upcoming sophomore album — uses capitalistic imagery against itself. The montage of visuals are all drawn from old news reports and commercials, and, when strung together in a row under the band’s provocative music, paint an unflattering picture about consumption and sustainability.
