Beloved British producers Jamie xx and Four Tet have been known to DJ together and collaborate to occasionally dazzling effect. Friday night the pair got together again for the latest installment of BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix and they each unleashed a fair bit of material from their respective vaults. In addition to dropping tracks by Roots Manuva and Throwing Snow, Four Tet debuted a couple of unreleased collaborations with Champion and Designer. The xx beatmaker contributed a couple of his recent stunning singles (“Gosh,” “Loud Places,” and “Alba”) as well as his great remix of Four Tet’s “Lion.” Listen to the mix in full here as you wait for Jamie xx’s new LP In Colour on June 1.
