Sun Kil Moon Recasts Led Zeppelin’s ‘Sick Again’ as a Sorrowful Ballad

Sun Kil Moon Sick Again Led Zeppelin Acoustic Cover Stream

Sun Kil Moon‘s Mark Kozelek may be in the midst of prepping for his June album Universal Themes, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time for Led Zeppelin-related detours. Following up on the sentiments he hinted at during Benji‘s “I Watched the Film The Song Remains the Same,” he’s paid tribute to the band yet again with a sorrowful and sparse cover of Physical Graffiti‘s “Sick Again.” This cover comes as part of an issue and compilation that MOJO is putting together in honor of that album’s 40th anniversary. Also featured on the compilation are covers of “Bron-Yr-Aur” by Laura Marling, “Black Country Woman” by Hiss Golden Messenger, and “Custard Pie” by White Denim, but they’re all going to have a difficult time living up to the solemn effort that Kozelek has put forth here. You can listen to the track in full over at Stereogum.
