Stream Kuroma’s Glam-Pop Gem ‘Love Is on the Way’

Kuroma

An early member of the Whigs and a guitarist for MGMT, Hank Sullivant found his own voice as singer/guitarist of the four-piece pop/rock outfit Kuroma. The group’s third album, the excellent (and superlatively titled) Kuromarama, is due out later this spring, and the new single from it is the irresistible “Love Is on the Way.” The song marries a Bo Diddley riff to a boogeying shuffle and a lithe falsetto, united by a ’70s sort of cheesy utopianism. The final product is like Scissor Sisters covering David Bowie’s “Up the Hill Backwards,” and just as delectible as that description would imply.

Listen below, and look out for the full Kuromarama — as well as tour dates in support of Ex Hex — on April 7.
