After two, mostly dormant years following the release of their debut album Shrines, Purity Ring are back with a new track that suggest a promising sophomore album. Much like the levitating girl in the video for the song (embedded above), “Push Pull” floats along in a way that’s both calm and eerie. Megan James and Corin Roddick’s latest soundscape alternates between almost magical moments of quiet and powerful, deep synths — a push and pull, if you will. They haven’t revealed any real details about the upcoming album, but this is certainly a good start. Give it a listen.
