The new music that Modest Mouse teased in their cryptic Instagram Monday was confirmed to come from their previously rumored upcoming album — their first full LP since We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank in 2007. A representative from Epic Records confirmed to Revolt that the new album would come out in the first quarter of 2015. The vinyl the band Instagrammed Monday had “Lampshades On Fire” written on it, but there hasn’t been any confirmation if that’s the name of the record or just the song that they’ve been playing in concert since 2011.
According to an Instgram by 91X DJ Robin Roth, “Lampshades on Fire” will get its first airplay on Monday, December 15. Listen to a concert soundboard recording of the new song below in the meantime.
