Mø Reflects on 2014 With Emotional New Single, ‘New Year’s Eve’

mø, new year's day

Without a doubt, 2014 was a pretty big year for Danish indie-pop star Mø. After releasing her debut album, No Mythologies to Follow, the reedy-voiced singer contributed to the recent Mockingjay Part One soundtrack — she co-wrote Ariana Grande and Major Lazer’s “All My Love,” one of the project’s most bombastic cuts — and hooked up with rapper of the moment, Iggy Azalea, on the Aussie’s clanging single, “Beg For It.”

To celebrate her banner year, Mø has just dropped a short, retrospective little song appropriately called “New Year’s Eve.” It’s a gorgeous, emotive single that takes a deep dive into what it’s like to revisit the past from the present. Come for the spliced together video footage, stay for Mø’s evocative harmonizing on the song’s chorus. Stream it below.
