Seriously Guys: Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter V’ Might Actually Come Out in Early 2015

Lil Wayne

Following an icy back-and-forth between Lil Wayne and longtime record company, Cash Money Records, label president Mack Maine now claims that Wayne’s long-awaited two-part album, Tha Carter V, is finished and will be out early next year.

During a stopover at Miami radio station WEDR 99 Jamz, Maine spoke to DJ Felicia Monae about how “Wayne’s great” and that his label fully intends to release the record in the first quarter of 2015. Some might recall how Wayne recently described himself as a “prisoner” of Cash Money, and, at the Vice20 party, he claimed to be leaving the label due to the stalled release of Tha Carter V. But, according to Maine, all’s well in Wayne’s world, and that there’s a silent partner involved with the release who will help release the album in a “special way.” Hear Maine’s interview in full above.
