Some of the most brilliant creative partnerships feature people who have very divergent views of the world and of their artistic place in it. Such is the case of the electronic musician Com Truise (born name: Seth Haley) and the multidisciplinary artist CandyStations (born name: Deborah Johnson) who are collaborating on an original audio-visual piece for the Connect Sessions powered by Microsoft. Where the lion’s share of Com Truise’s work usually happens in seclusion, CandyStations, whose great live-performance visuals have enhanced concerts by the likes of Wilco and Sufjan Stevens, makes her art in public. How these two approaches successfully intersect, is at the heart of their project.
