Connect Sessions Ep. 10 — Com Truise, How to Dress Well, and Ian Williams Take the Stage

The artists all agree: Connect Sessions is a smashing success

Interviewed a few hours before taking the stage of the live Connect Sessions powered by Microsoft event at the Brooklyn venue Verboten last Wednesday, December 17, two of the participating musicians Seth Haley (a.k.a. Com Truise) and Tom Krell (How To Dress Well) humorously echoed each other, saying they felt little pressure because all of the evening’s stress fell on their collaborating visualists – respectively, Deborah Johnson (CandyStations) and Melissa Matos (TRUSST). Meanwhile, Ian Williams (of the electro-rock band Battles) was likening his project partnership with photographer Ron Amstutz to “a marriage.” All six had a right to be giddy and lippy: After a two-month process in which they worked in pairs on original live audio-visual pieces, each of the unveilings proved to be a success.
