The Drums‘ Encyclopedia ballad “I Can’t Pretend” has recieved a slick, electro remix courtesy of Los Angeles duo YACHT, and it’s definitely worth spending some time with.
Jonny Pierce and Jacob Graham, who have since taken a downtempo detour from their earlier pop days (see: “Let’s Go Surfing”), let YACHT throw in a few layers of dance-floor-friendly drums on this new reworking. The track’s echoing vocals are still intact, but Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans sprinkle in additional synth and robotic vocal loops to gloss things up a bit.
