Taylor Swift Torches Her Relationship in ‘Blank Space’ Video

Taylor Swift Blank Space Music Video

Fresh off of pulling her music from Spotify, Taylor Swift has just released the gorgeously rendered music video for her 1989 cut, “Blank Space.” The anthemic track tells the story of a love gone sour, so it’s no wonder that the surprise video — directed by Joseph Kahn — takes T-Swift on a journey through a relationship as she realizes her boyfriend might not be the one for her. She goes quickly from romantic horseback rides to taking a golf club to the guy’s car in a matter of minutes.

Swift’s satirical version of herself — the one she’s created for the video in response to critics who think she dates around a lot — is a broadly painted caricature, dropping an iPhone into a pool and stabbing her boyfriend’s dress shirt with a pair of scissors, all while sporting smeared mascara all over her face. Watch it above.
