Metallica ‘Fuel’ Up on Second Night of ‘Ferguson’ Residency

Metallica, Craig Ferguson, Fuel

Two late-nights ago, Metallica kicked off their week-long residency on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson with “Hit the Lights,” the first track on their first album. Last night, they jumped about a decade and a half later into their career for the revved-up ReLoad jam “Fuel.” The metal legends sounded just as great playing the 1998 hit, though in 2014 it’s a little weird to hear the song at this point without it soundtracking some sort of auto-racing event. (Or WWE, at least.)

Watch above, and continue to check back on Ferguson throughout the week for the rest of the band’s performances. No second Fallon-as-Bono performance on the Tonight Show last night, so it appears Metallica’s residency will go unchallenged for late-night supremacy. Bummer.
