Listen to Jennifer Lawrence’s Emotional ‘Hunger Games’ Song

Jennifer Lawrence, The Hunger Games, Mockingjay, Sings, The Hanging Tree

Sure, it’s a horrible dystopic society that regularly makes children fight to the death, but the world of the Hunger Games has provided us with some pretty great music recently. First, Lorde gathered up a bunch of talented tributes when she curated the soundtrack for the just-released third installment, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1, and now, as it turns out, Jennifer Lawrence is a very talented singer as well.

In the film, Katniss Everdeen serenades Panem with “The Hanging Tree,” a wrought and tear-inducing song from the troubled bow-slinger’s childhood. According to RadioTimes.com, the actress was very worried about having to sing, reportedly crying before filming the emotional scene. She needn’t have worried — J-Law sounds great. Listen above.
