Hear Beck and Sia Drift Away to ‘Moonquake Lake’ on New ‘Annie’ Soundtrack

Annie, Soundtrack, Sia, Beck, Streaming

The sun’ll come out tomorrow, but the soundtrack for the 2014 Annie remake is streaming today. While most of the classic tracks on the album are sung by Quvenzhané Wallis — who’ll play Annie herself — or other cast members, a handful are sung by 1000 Forms of Fear singer Sia. The elusive “Chandelier” chanteuse is often one of the best things to come from such soundtracks, as she proved with last year’s contributions The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Great Gatsby. And while we’re not entirely sure if the world really needed a hip new remake of the 1982 original film, it’s pretty great to have more Sia.

Best of all, perhaps, is “Moonquake Lake,” which features Sia and SPIN favorite Beck. It’s a fun and upbeat tune, at times approaching a folksy tropical vibe — the type of song that might also get play outside of a movie theater. Check it out along with the rest of the soundtrack below via Spotify
