U2 Perform Two ‘Innocence’ Cuts on ‘Later…With Jools Holland’

U2; Songs of Innocence; Later With Jools Holland

It’s OK if U2 show up in your British late-night programming, possibly without warning, and offer you performances for free, right? Hope so, because the recently beseiged Irish quartet showed up on the BBC Two’s Later…With Jools Holland to play two cuts from the unexpectedly controversial Songs of Innocence. Bono got up close and personal with the camera for the band’s run through “Volcano” (above), and then the group brought out a string section for a stirring rendition of “Every Breaking Wave” (below).

Nice enough songs when they’re not infuriating you with their undeleteability, turns out. Songs of Innocence is currently available for purchase in stores and online.
