Ty Segall’s new video for “The Singer” starts off pretty comfortably, with the 27-year-old strumming his guitar in a messy loft, waiting for the first verse to kick in. Then, very casually, a band of ghosts materializes to accompany the former SPIN cover star, not long before Segall himself starts to levitate. On the whole, the clip is more “Disney World’s Haunted Mansion” kind of spooky than a legitimate American Horror Story-style scare.
“The Singer” comes from the garage-rock phenom’s well-received new album, the recently released Manipulator, and the video can be seen above.
