The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Try to Give Taylor Swift a ‘Poison Touch’

Pains of Being Pure at Heart 'Poison Touch' A Sunny Day In Glasgow Jen Goma

Following the May release of their Days of Abandon album, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart are back with “Poison Touch,” one of five new tracks that will appear on the upcoming deluxe edition of their third LP. As frontman Kip Berman tells The Line of Best Fit (which premiered the upbeat ditty), “I wrote ‘Poison Touch’ for Taylor Swift, but I think her number was in my old phone. So I gave it to A Sunny Day in Glasgow’s Jen Goma instead.” Goma’s vocals add even more of an ’80s pop sheen to the track, and we don’t mean that in a bad way. While you wait for the September 22 release of the deluxe Days of Abandon, check out SPIN‘s profile on the band, Young Adult Friction: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s Rebirth and take a virtual tour of Berman’s Brooklyn apartment.
