Miley Cyrus’ outrageous arty pop-star antics are not going over well beyond this nation’s borders. First she was banned from bringing her Bangerz tour to the Dominican Republic for “acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law,” and now a Mexican lawmaker wants to fine her for disrespecting the country’s flag.
Nuevo León state legislator Francisco Trevino has asked the Mexican federal government to fine Cyrus after one of her dancers spanked the singer’s twerking booty with a his nation’s banner during an Independence Day performance in Monterrey, reports The Guardian.
Trevino said his state has already approved a warrant for the interior ministry to enforce the law on use of the flag and, if approved, Miley or her team could face a fine of about about $1,200 or 36 hours of detainment. Something tells us she’d go with the fine.
And in reading the U.K. paper’s article, it doesn’t seem Mexico is the only country damning the “Party in the U.S.A.” stat. Just read this description: “Cyrus, who has grabbed headlines for her admitted drug use, sexually suggestive dancing and wearing as little as a pair of boots in a music video.” Jeeze, give the girl a break.
