The Mercury Prize remains one of the U.K.’s most prestigious music awards. This year’s nominees reflect the country’s diverse, ever-changing aural landscape with artists including Damon Albarn (for his April solo release, Everyday Robots) and the pristine queen of vogueing, fka Twigs, for her LP1. Newcomers Royal Blood find themselves on the list for the first time with their debut album, and Bombay Bicycle Club’s rollicking So Long, See You Tomorrow also scored a nomination.
