Belle and Sebastian Decree ‘Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance’ With New Album

Belle and Sebastian Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance New Album

Belle & Sebastian have announced plans to release their ninth studio album, Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance, on January 20 (via Matador Records) of next year. It’ll be the band’s first record since 2010’s well-received Write About Love, save for the upcoming B&S vinyl reissues, which are set to hit stores on October 7. It’s also the Glasgow outfit’s most Belle & Sebastian-y title ever, at least until their next album comes out.

Girls in Peacetime was recorded in Atlanta with the help of Animal Collective and Gnarls Barkely collaborator Ben H. Allen III. You can hear a very breezy and emotive two-minute long clip of a new Belle & Sebastian track, taken from Peactime, in the behind-the-scenes studio clip above.
