Watch That Arcade Fire, Bon Iver Supergroup Cover Phil Collins, White Stripes

Arcade Fire Pop All Star Bon Iver Cover Video

Last week, Win Butler announced a one-off performance from an unbelievable indie rock supergroup featuring his brother Will, Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon, Nikolai Fraiture of the Strokes. The so-called Pop All Star Band took to the stage Saturday in Montreal during the halftime show of the Butler brothers annual Pop vs. Jock charity basketball game and it looks like it was something special. With help from other Arcade Fire members, including Régine Chassagne, and A-Trak, the crew covered Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” and the White Stripes “Seven Nation Army.”

As for the game itself, as Stereogum reports, the Butler brothers and Vernon (as well as former NBA players Luke Bonner and Brian Scalabrine) led Team Pop to a 101-92 victory over Team Jock (which was composed of players from McGill and Concordia University basketball teams). Meanwhile, Chassagne, A-Trak, and Kid Koala provided in-game music, including covers of stadium staples like “Eye of the Tiger” and Van Halen’s “Jump.”
