Radiator Hospital Render Sprightly Punk on ‘Cut Your Bangs’

radiator hospital

The power-pop outfit Radiator Hospital have a knack for melodramatic melancholy. Want proof? Stream “Cut Your Bangs,” a new track from the Philadelphia quartet that will not only grace their next album but also appears on a recently released charity compilation. The perfectly sad sonnet trades in ironically upbeat lo-fi guitars and plainspoken lyrics that coolly break your heart: “You say you’ll cut your bangs, I’m calling your bluff / When you lie to me it’s in the small stuff.”

Listen to “Cut Your Bangs” below, and find the anti-love ballad on The Big Comp II, which features 85 tracks by 85 different artists, including Into It. Over It., the Menzingers, and the Hotelier. All proceeds from the comp will be donated all to 1BlueString and The Nature Conservancy. As mentioned above, the track will also land on the avant-pop-punk group’s upcoming LP, Torch Song, out this August on Salinas Records.
