Watch Spoon Blast Through ‘Rent I Pay’ and ‘Rainy Taxi’ on ‘Kimmel’

Spoon "Rent I Pay" "Rainy Taxi" Kimmel live 'They Want My Soul'

The build-up to Spoon’s They Want My Soul continues, with the Austin band dropping by the Jimmy Kimmel Live! outdoor stage in Los Angeles to play two of the new album’s cuts. First up was an energetic rendition of “Rent I Pay,” which has already received an unofficial video and was previously stripped down for an acoustic live performance at NXNE. Then came the intense “Rainy Taxi,” which the indie-rock lifers originally unleashed at Primavera Sound, in all its noisy glory. Following that festival and Governors Ball, the Kimmel gig proves that Spoon is already very comfortable with their new material, so fans should be even more pumped for their upcoming festival dates. Find “Rent I Pay” above, hail “Rainy Taxi” below, and look out for They Want My Soul — it’s out August 5 via Loma Vista.
