Over the past couple of years, U.K. crooner Lewis Watson has turned out a series of EPs containing melancholic and melismatic guitar pop. Now with a new single, “Stay,” and a remix courtesy of his knob-twiddling countrymen We The Wild, he’s finally primed to release his first full-length, The Morning.
The LP version of “Stay” doubles down on Watson’s emotive romanticism, but We The Wild’s reimagination strips away the original’s acoustic guitars in favor of buoyant synth stabs. Watson has a knack for Chris Martin-ian high drama, but this remix recasts his a cappella in a kaleidoscopic new light.
