Good advice for aspiring buzz bands: “They can’t disown ya if they never owned ya.” That’s Foo Fighters’ Tayor Hawkins singing, while drumming, on muscular scuzz-rocker “Thanks for the Line,” from the Iggy Pop actor‘s non-Foo band, the Birds of Satan. Well, Beelzebub’s winged minions made their network-TV debut last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, giving us both “Thanks” (above) and anxious “Pieces of the Puzzle” (below), each from new release The Birds of Satan. Meanwhile, Foo Fighters are at work on a new album, and earlier this month the band played a surprise, career-spanning set in Washington, D.C.; Dave Grohl stood on the bar and took a shot during “Monkey Wrench,” then decamped for his own, solo surprise set of Foos songs in front of 100 people in Nashville.
