Watch Adorable Schoolchildren Sing St. Vincent’s ‘Digital Witness’

St. Vincent 'Digital Witness' PS22 Chorus Children Choir

Aside from releasing an essential new album, St. Vincent has, of late: fronted Nirvana, appeared on Portlandia, and booked a Saturday Night Live performance for May 17. Perhaps it’s time Annie Clark let someone else take a crack at being as excellent as she clearly is. Who better, then, than the gifted Staten Island elementary students of the PS22 Chorus. Seen above, these grade-schoolers take on the New York artist’s angular St. Vincent single, “Digital Witness.” As director Gregg “Mr. B” Breinberg accompanies on piano, the children sing about tossing TVs from windows and improvise all kinds of adorable motions to go with. Over the years and through different lineups, PS22 has actually accompanied artists as ranging as Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks, Chris Daughtry, Santigold, and Thirty Seconds to Mars. Oh, and in case you missed it, here they are crushing Portishead’s “Sour Times.”
