Sign o’ the Times: Prince’s Spanish Villa for Sale
Here's what $7.75 million worth of opulent Marbella mansion looks like
Miss out on Exene Cervenka’s estate sale? Bid too low on Maynard James Keenan’s Los Angeles home? Or Jay Z’s former stash spot? Well, now you’ve got another chance to own an extremely expensive one-of-a-kind piece of music history. Prince is selling a Spanish villa that he owns. The six-bedroom Marbella mansion is listed at LuxuryEstate.com for $7.5 million — since we aren’t in the habit of buying villas, we’re not sure if that’s a bargain.
But we do know that the Purple One bought the place for his former wife Mayte Garcia in 1998, and that the residence itself is decidedly lacking in the funk god’s favorite hue. Also, the property sits on 6 square meters, “enjoys impressive sea, mountains, valley and golf views,” and visitors are “greeted with an enormous colonial style double staircase with white marble balustrades sweeping down to the grand, chandeliered entrance hall.”
And as the really cheesy video below demonstrates, the master bedroom is entered via a “fantasy door,” and the ceiling is strategically mirrored. H/t Curbed for the find. More photos beneath the clip from LuxuryEstate.com.
