In celebration of the imminent release of the Andrew Garfield’s latest turn as America’s favorite arachnid superhero, a few of the folks from The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s soundtrack turned up Friday for a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
With Kendrick Lamar, AraabMuzik, Johnny Marr, and Hans Zimmer in tow, Alicia Keys led a piano-driven rendition of “It’s On Again.” There’s something really strange about that specific mix of characters all showing up on the same stage, but such is the magic of Hollywood.
Pharrell, who in recent months has become the de facto monarch of musical television appearances, didn’t appear alongside Keys, despite performing on the recorded version of the track and appearing in its video. P’s absence appears to explain AraabMuzik’s contribution to the whole affair, which included some dramatic MPC action at the height of Keys’ practiced emoting.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack is out now, and the film itself hits theaters May 2.
