Archie Bronson Outfit’s ‘We Are Floating’ Video Is Pretty Literal
Band grooves in a hellish cartoon sea for fourth LP, 'Wild Crush'
Archie Bronson Outfit drummer Arp Cleveland describes the band’s new single as such: “‘We Are Floating’ is about flux, transition, motion, potions, disappearing notions, moving, grooving, hovering, bothering; being dazed but giving praise.” Once you hear the song and watch its accompanying psychedelic visuals, all that jive makes a whole lot of sense. The Adam Mallett-directed video puts the Bath, England outfit into a cartoon sea filled with ghosts, fire, and old-school Batman-style animated onomatopoeia. The visuals add urgency to the track, which blends Franz Ferdinand’s choppy rhythms with David Byrne’s troubled “Psycho Killer” coo.
