Hear Sadie Dupuis Cover Josie and the Pussycats in Lo-Fi Longing

Sadie Dupuis

On Record Store Day (a.k.a. April 19), Father/Daughter Records will drop Faux Real, a covers-only compilation featuring songs by fictitious bands. The upcoming, limited-edition 12-inch includes tunes originally heard in That Thing You Do!, Daria, Freaky Friday, The Goofy Movie, and more, remade by Field Mouse, Bent Shapes, Potty Mouth, and Body Parts, to name a few. Speedy Ortiz frontwoman Sadie Dupuis also contributes to the collection, reimagining Josie and the Pussycats’ 1970’s power-pop anthem “Pretend To Be Nice” as a quietly powerful piece of lo-fi slacker-rock. Listen below, and find the full Faux Real track list further down.
