Here Are the New Photos From Kurt Cobain’s Death Scene
Drug paraphernalia and personal items are displayed in the images
Earlier today, news broke that the case of Kurt Cobain’s death was reopened in light of new photographs uncovered by Seattle authorities. Shortly thereafter, news broke once again, and it was determined that the case had been closed — or perhaps more accurately, it remained closed. No doubt in an attempt to appease the interested and discourage conspiracy theories, the Seattle Police Department has released two of the photos that caused the hubbub.
The previously unseen images arrived late Thursday and though it’s a bit hard to make out the details, the Associated Press describes them thusly: “One was an image showing a box containing a spoon and what appear to be needles on the floor next to a cigarette and sunglasses. The other showed the paraphernalia box closed, next to cash and a wallet that appears to show Cobain’s identification.” The latter appears above, though you can review both below.
In related recent news, Nirvana are due to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 10, that Craigslist posting was a hoax initiated by Sub Pop, and that statue is a complete disaster. With any luck, we’ll see a lot more photos (from happier times) in that museum one journalist is hoping to build out of Cobain’s childhood home.
