Is This Daft Punk, Jay Z Song a Fake?

Daft Punk Jay Z 'Computerized' Stream Kanye West

Below, you’ll find a track supposedly called “Computerized,” supposedly by Daft Punk with Jay Z. The song made the rounds on Monday accompanied by huge grains of salt before Pitchfork reported, sans citation, that they can confirm its validity. The droids from France have been aurally spoofed many times before, and the production on this track feels a little less pristine than their recent work. Plus, the vocals wouldn’t be their robotic best by a long shot. Of course, it could be an unfinished mix, or a track that was scrapped for the aforementioned reasons. Jay’s alleged turn sounds real enough, but that weird overly emotional “I don’t know how I feel / Somebody tell me what’s real” bit feels out of character. Plus, he’s rapping about iTouch and BlackBerry, and not Samsung. And there’s that part where he says, “P.S. This is B.S.” The jury’s still out, in our book. At best, as Noisey concludes, “Computerized” could be an old track never intended to be heard.
