Just last month, Neko Case treated us to an excellent seven-song set on Austin City Limits, turning in an impressive performance backed by her excellently bearded band. She upped the firepower last night on Conan, enlisting members of Arizona indie-folk band Calexico to aid her on a triumphant rendition of “Ragtime.” Decked out in skeleton-print leggings, the sometime New Pornographer nailed the horn-and-cello-aided track off her most recent LP, the excellent The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You, was one of SPIN’s 50 Best Albums of 2013.
