The music of Forest Swords is inspiring in strange ways. Last year’s bewitching Engravings album seems just as apt to encourage long bouts of zonked headphone listening as convulsive solo dance sessions apt to cause injury. Thankfully, there are professionals who can handle the last bit while the rest of us get stoned and stare. Above you’ll find the stunning video for “The Weight of Gold,” a dubbed out beat excursion that here scores the engrossing moves of dancer Billy Barry as he moves through a series of remarkable landscapes in Israel. Directed by French choreographer, filmmaker, and photographer Benjamin Millepied, the Nowness-premiered visual is an excellent compliment to the eerily beautiful song.
