Austra Host Mind-Warping Dance Party in ‘Hurt Me Now’ Video

For the last several months, Austra have repped for their Olympia album with a string of intense and outré music videos. First there was the startlingly intimate visual for “Home,” then came the slimy “Painful Like” clip, which was followed by the NSFW short for “Forgive Me.” Now, the SPIN profile subjects have shared another bizarre video, this one for the darkly dramatic and electronic track “Hurt Me Now.”

Premiered through Dazed Digital, the piece reunites Austra with M Blash, who previously directed the video for “Lose It,” a synthy single from the Toronto trio’s 2011 debut, Feel It Break. “Working with M Blash is a rare experience,” Austra singer Kate Stelmanis says in a statement. “I like to give him a song and let him do whatever he wants cause when his mindflow is undisturbed the results are psychedelic and matchless.”

Enter “Hurt Me Now,” a freaky-deaky dance party populated by a green-skinned, leather-clad demon, a shirtless longhair riding a motorcycle, and other, um, unique guests. Watch it above, and scroll down for Austra’s upcoming tour dates, which include a pair of appearances at this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
